Direct-Billed Accident Repair in Poznań
After a collision the worst part is not the car sitting still — it is not knowing who pays for it. Here the insurer pays, not you: you sign an assignment of the claim, we bill the repair straight to the insurer and run the case from inspection to handover. On a claim against the at-fault driver's OC you contribute nothing. On your own AC policy, "direct-billed" does not mean "free" — the excess and the depreciation applied to parts come from your policy, so we name that figure at the start rather than at the counter. We repair the mechanical side: suspension, running gear, steering, wheels, geometry and underbody protection — the parts that take the hit in a side impact, a kerb strike or a pothole. We have no body shop and no paint booth, and we do not pretend otherwise: panels needing straightening or paint go to a trusted partner, we refit them ourselves, and the whole thing stays on one job sheet with one person to talk to. The workshop is in Bogucin, right on the Poznań–Swarzędz boundary.
We're launching this service soon. Leave your details and we'll let you know when it starts — and about the opening offer.
What the service includes
- Running the claim — inspection, photographic record, estimate and dealing with the loss adjuster; we call the insurer, not you
- Direct billing — with an assignment of the claim we invoice the insurer rather than you
- Claim against the at-fault driver's OC — restoring the car to its pre-accident condition; where liability is undisputed you pay nothing
- Claim on your own AC policy — handled the same way, but the excess and parts depreciation are yours; we give you the figure before work starts
- Road-defect claim — pothole, broken surface, collapsed drain: the claim goes to the road authority (ZDM, GDDKiA, the local council) and we help document it
- Suspension and running gear — wishbones, ball joints, dampers, springs, bearings, hubs and bushings
- Steering — track rods, ends, rack and column; after this kind of repair a 3D geometry check is compulsory, not optional
- Wheels — rims, tyres, pressure sensors, balancing and a runout check after a kerb strike
- Underbody — engine and underbody guards, wheel arch liners, mudflaps and mountings
- Bodywork and paint at our partner — we strip, hand over, collect and refit; you never drive the car between workshops
- Recovery by tow truck if the car is not driveable after the incident
What we do not do
- We do not sell insurance, advise on which policy to buy or compare offers — we are neither an insurance agent nor a broker, and we are not on the KNF register of insurance intermediaries
- We do not straighten or paint in-house — a partner does that work, and we answer for the refitting and for the job as a whole
- We do not repair body structure after a serious impact; a car with a damaged chassis rail or pillar we refer on, and we say so immediately
- Our estimate is a workshop estimate, not an assessor's opinion or a court expert report
- We have no courtesy car fleet of our own
Frequently asked questions
Can the insurer make me use their own approved workshop?
No. Choosing the workshop is your call, and no insurer can force you into their network — they may propose it, often sweetened with a faster payout, but the decision is yours. If you are told that repairing outside the network means a lower settlement, ask for that in writing: on a claim against the at-fault driver's OC the settlement is meant to cover the real cost of restoring the car, whoever does the work.
What does "direct-billed" actually mean?
That no money leaves your pocket, at either end. You sign an assignment of the claim — transferring to us the right to the payout for this specific incident — and we invoice the insurer and collect from them. You collect a repaired car. The alternative, if you prefer it: you pay, take the invoice and settle with the insurer yourself.
Do you do bodywork and paint?
Not in-house — we have no body shop and no paint booth, and we would rather say so than promise it and quietly subcontract. Panels needing straightening or paint go to a trusted partner, while stripping, refitting, all the mechanical work and running the claim stay with us. For you the only difference is the timescale; you drop the car off and collect it in one place, on one job.
I have AC cover. How much will I be out of pocket?
Whatever your policy says, and we tell you before the work rather than after. Two things make it up: the excess, which you always cover yourself, and depreciation on parts — a deduction reflecting a new part going into a car that is several years old. AC variants differ enormously on both, so before we start anything we ask for the policy and work out the actual figure.
The insurer valued the repair below your estimate. What then?
First we send them our calculation with photographs and reasoning — very often that settles it, because the shortfall comes from operations that simply are not visible in a phone snapshot. If they hold their position you have three options and we will lay them out honestly: pay the difference, change the scope or the parts grade, or pursue the difference from the insurer. We do not start the repair until you know where you stand.
I hit a pothole. Who pays for that?
The road authority — in Poznań usually ZDM, outside the city the council, the district or GDDKiA. It is a harder route than an OC claim, because you have to show the authority was negligent, not merely that your car was damaged. So the documentation taken at the scene decides it: photographs of the hole with something for scale and the surroundings in frame, the exact location, the date and time, a police or municipal warden report, witness details. We add the inspection and the damage estimate.
Will I get a courtesy car while mine is repaired?
On a claim against the at-fault driver's OC, as a rule yes — the cost of hiring a replacement car for the repair period forms part of the loss and their insurer covers it. We keep no fleet of our own, so the car comes from a hire company that bills the insurer directly; we will point you to how that is arranged. On an AC claim it depends on whether your policy includes that option.
Will I get new parts on an OC repair?
The principle is that the settlement should return the car to its pre-accident condition, not a worse one — so an OC repair uses new parts as a rule. Insurers nonetheless often write cheaper equivalents into the estimate. We always show you which parts the estimate assumes and which we propose to fit; where those differ, you hear about it before the repair, not after.
How long does a repair like this take?
Two things set the date, and a workshop has limited influence over either: when the loss adjuster inspects the car, and when the parts arrive. The inspection itself is usually a few working days from the claim being filed. We give a firm date once we know the approved scope and parts availability — we would rather give it later and have it be true.
Do you sell insurance?
No. SPRAWNO is a car workshop — we are not an insurance agent or broker, we are not on the register of insurance intermediaries kept by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), we do not advise on choosing a policy and we do not quote premiums. If you are looking for someone who does this professionally, ask us and we will give you a contact. You call them yourself; we pass your details to nobody.
