Hybrid car service — Poznan, Bogucin
Hybrid system fault code reading150 złHybrid owners dread one sentence: "the battery needs replacing". Here we start with a measurement, not a verdict — we read block voltages, the differences between them, temperatures and how the cooling behaves, and only then do we tell you what is actually going on. In practice a great many faults come from clogged battery cooling or a tired 12 V battery, so we check those before we propose expensive diagnostics. Reading hybrid system faults starts from 150 zł. Two boundaries up front: our check is not an official main-dealer test and it does not extend the manufacturer's warranty on the traction battery, and computer diagnostics does not replace a capacity test of removed modules. Workshop in Bogucin, Swarzędz municipality, on the edge of Poznan.

Pricing rules
- Prices
- All prices are gross prices and cover labour and diagnostics to the extent described in the given item.
- Parts
- Batteries, modules, sensors, pumps, filters, fluids, lines, 12 V batteries and other materials are charged separately.
- Scope of diagnostics
- The range of available parameters, active tests and procedures depends on the make, model, year and control unit software version of the vehicle.
- Battery assessment
- A diagnostic scan can reveal differences between blocks and irregular operation, but it does not replace a capacity test of each removed module.
- Manufacturer's warranty
- Our check of the hybrid system is not an official ASO test and does not extend the manufacturer's warranty on the traction battery.
- Fault code clearing
- We clear fault codes only after reading, recording and establishing the possible cause of their occurrence.
- Road test
- A dynamic test of the battery and hybrid system may require a road test carried out with the customer's consent.
- Additional diagnostics
- If identifying the fault requires additional measurements or removal work, we inform the customer of the expected cost before continuing.
- High-voltage work
- We open the traction battery, inverter and other high-voltage components only after properly securing the vehicle and the work area and confirming the absence of dangerous voltage.
- Training
- Work inside the high-voltage system may be carried out only by suitably trained people equipped with protective equipment.
- Battery reconditioning
- We start reconditioning after removal, verification of the modules and the customer's approval of a detailed estimate.
- Used modules
- With used modules it is not possible to guarantee identical durability of all the battery's cells. The scope of the warranty is set out on the repair order.
- Customer-supplied parts
- With customer-supplied parts the workshop is responsible for correct fitting, but not for their quality, capacity, origin or durability.
- 12 V battery
- A weak 12 V battery can cause numerous fault codes and problems entering READY mode, so we check it before starting costly diagnostics.
- Battery cooling
- A dirty filter, ducts or fan can cause the battery to overheat and its parameters to deteriorate faster.
- PHEV and electric cars
- We accept plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars once the scope of diagnostics and the workshop's technical capability have been confirmed in advance.
- Safety
- If the condition of the vehicle or battery poses a risk of electric shock, fire or further damage, we may refuse to start the car or carry out a road test.
- Prices
- All prices are gross prices and cover labour.
- Customer-supplied parts
- Where parts are supplied by the customer, the workshop is responsible for correct fitting but is not responsible for the quality or durability of those parts.
- Customer-supplied parts
- With customer-supplied parts the workshop is responsible for correct fitting, but not for the quality, fit or durability of those parts.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a hybrid battery check cost and what exactly do you measure?
Traction battery parameter analysis is 220 zł. We read the voltages of the individual blocks, the differences between them, temperatures and how the state of charge behaves, and we check the cooling fan. If you want the full drivetrain picture including the inverter and the cooling circuit, the right entry point is extended diagnostics at 280 zł. A plain fault readout, without extended analysis, is 150 zł.
Can you tell me how much of the battery is left?
Not in the way that phrase is usually meant in classified ads. Computer diagnostics lets us detect differences between blocks and irregularities in how the battery works — and that is usually enough to judge the risk of a purchase or the cause of a fault. It does not, however, replace a capacity test of each module once the battery has been removed, so we cannot honestly quote you a "percentage of wear". The range of available parameters also depends on the make, model, year and control unit version — with an unusual car it is worth calling before you come.
Does your check extend the manufacturer's warranty on the traction battery?
No. Our hybrid system check is not an official main-dealer test and it does not extend the manufacturer's warranty on the traction battery. If your car is covered by an extended battery warranty programme, the inspection has to be done by an authorised dealer for that brand. What you get from us is an independent assessment of condition and concrete recommendations — a different service with a different purpose.
The car will not enter READY mode — where do you start?
With the 12 V battery, because it is the most common and the cheapest cause. A battery test costs 50 zł, and a weak 12 V battery can generate a whole list of faults that look like a drivetrain failure. Only once the 12 V side is sound do we move to no-READY diagnostics from 250 zł — checking the main contactor, insulation, the inverter and communication between control units. Further measurements are billed by time, and we always tell you the cost before continuing.
What does cleaning the battery fan and cooling achieve, and how often should it be done?
A clogged filter, ducts or fan cause the battery to overheat, and an overheated battery loses condition much faster — it is the cheapest preventive work you can do on a hybrid. Cleaning the accessible inlet and filter is the cheaper option; a full cooling system clean with the fan removed starts from 300 zł, and the price depends on the model and how hard the fan is to reach. On high-mileage cars, especially taxis, and in cars that carry pets, it is worth doing regularly rather than after a fault appears.
Do you recondition hybrid batteries? Can I bring my own modules?
Our price list currently has no battery reconditioning and no module replacement — we sell diagnostics, battery cooling, inverter work and 12 V batteries, and we are not going to promise a service we have not priced. If diagnostics point at the modules, we will say so plainly and help you plan the next steps, with the scope and cost agreed individually after removal and inspection of the modules. With used modules it is impossible to guarantee identical durability across every part of the battery, and for parts supplied by the customer we are responsible for correct fitting but not for their capacity, origin or service life.
Do you handle plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars?
Only after confirming the scope in advance. We take plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars once we have checked whether we have the procedures and technical capability for your model — otherwise we would be booking you in for a visit that leads nowhere. Call 500 272 005 with the make, model and year and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot do.
Who works on the high-voltage side, and how is it made safe?
We only open the traction battery, the inverter and other high-voltage components after the car and the work area have been made safe and the absence of dangerous voltage has been confirmed. Work inside the high-voltage system may only be carried out by someone properly trained and equipped with protective gear — this is not a job to improvise. If the condition of the car or the battery creates a risk of electric shock, fire or further damage, we may refuse to start the car or to take it out for a test drive, and we will explain why.
I run a high-mileage Prius as a taxi — what should be checked regularly?
With taxi duty what matters is the rhythm, not a single visit. We have a fleet package designed as a check roughly every 10,000–15,000 km, and a broader package for taxi hybrids covering system diagnostics, a test drive, the 12 V battery and battery cooling cleaning — aimed exactly at Prius, Auris, Corolla and Lexus models. Both are in the price list below. That way the battery cooling never gets a chance to clog and a 12 V battery replacement does not ambush you mid-shift.
I am buying a used hybrid — will you check it before I commit?
Yes, there is a dedicated pre-purchase hybrid check: control unit scan, traction battery analysis, test drive, 12 V battery, battery cooling and a basic mechanical inspection. If you want the whole car checked rather than just the drivetrain, the full pre-purchase inspection with its hybrid variant makes more sense — it is described on its own page and includes the lift, paint and a repair estimate. Neither check guarantees that every hidden defect will be found; we say so before you book.
