The type of refrigerant depends on the year of manufacture — cars roughly up to 2016/2017 use R134a, newer ones R1234yf. We'll check it by the VIN number and the sticker in the engine bay, so you don't need to know it in advance. The recharge price depends on this.

Usually yes, but it is worth separating two things. The smell most often comes from fungi and bacteria on the evaporator. Cabin ozone treatment from 100 zł neutralises the smell in the cabin and the vents, while the source on the evaporator itself is removed by chemical cleaning from 299 zł — a separate, more expensive job. We replace the cabin filter along the way, because it locks in the effect.

We give a warranty on our labour, and before every recharge we check for leaks so we don't recharge 'into a hole'. One thing we say plainly: refrigerant is charged by the amount missing, so if the system has to be recharged again, you pay for the refrigerant. If the A/C weakens again, you come back to us — we look for the cause and quote fixing it before we start anything.

We start with cooling system diagnostics for 179 zł: a pressure test shows where the coolant is escaping, and we also check the thermostat, the fan, temperatures and the expansion tank cap. Where we suspect exhaust gases in the coolant we add a CO2 test for 120 zł — that is the key question, because a 'yes' means a head gasket, not a radiator. If the temperature has already gone past the normal range, don't drive on — an overheated engine costs more than the entire cooling repair.

Engine radiator replacement from 400 zł, thermostat from 350 zł, coolant change from 180 zł. Those are gross labour prices — radiators, hoses, sensors, gaskets and fluids are charged separately. We confirm the final figure against the VIN, because on some cars the bumper has to come off to reach the radiator.

The A/C condenser sits directly in front of the engine radiator, the same fan pulls air through both circuits, and replacing the radiator means reaching the condenser anyway. So one visit covers both systems instead of two appointments — and we don't have to split the water pump across two different pages.

No. We match the coolant to the manufacturer's specification and never mix incompatible technologies — mixed coolants can drop a sludge that blocks the radiator and the heater matrix. If nobody knows what is in the system, a full change is safer than a top-up. We also measure the freezing point, so that in winter it doesn't turn out the system is mostly water.
